Augusta/Melissa Urbanna, VA Retreat, November 2012 – ALONG THE WAY

Posted By on November 21, 2012

Before I show you the photos of all of the wonderful projects that we created at the Augusta/Melissa Quilt Retreat at  BETHPAGE CAMP RESORT in Urbanna,VA  last weekend.  I have some photos that I took ALONG THE WAY – just had to share…..you know, to build up to the fun that is to come.  I really find the trees and the leaves in their autumn hues to be magical!!!  The Chesapeake Bay is beautiful…..I loved it all!

Catherine and I had a wonderful time driving to Urbanna…..and of course we stopped at an antique store along the way.  I HAD to take pictures of the goodies in this store.  I JUST LOVE ANTIQUE STORES!  It is on my list of  FAVORITE THINGS!    We also had lunch at the 7-11 – a first for me……..I think our sandwiches were pretty good but I didn’t take pictures of this!!!

Augusta/Melissa Quilt Retreat in Urbanna, VA, November 2012 THE FACILITIES

Posted By on November 21, 2012

I have a new favorite place…..the BETHPAGE CAMP RESORT in Urbanna, VA.  Our quilt retreat here last weekend was without flaw…..THANK YOU SO MUCH Augusta and Melissa for ogranizing this retreat and for choosing such a wonderful setting.   The COTTAGES were adorable…..the sewing room was spacious (REALLY SPACIOUS)  and well-lit, the scenery was made for oooohing and aaaaahing…….the food and the service were STELLAR OVER THE MOON wonderful.  We had a wonderful chef and ate gourmet food – not cafeteria style group food.    IT WAS PERFECT.

Here are a few of my pictures of the facilities…….click twice on any photo to see the entire image!  I hope you enjoy the photos…..and read the next post to see more of our Quilt Retreat fun!

I love retreats – don’t you?  One of the inspiring and motivating aspects of a quilt retreat is that you get to see what others have created!  Here are a few of the informal SHOW AND TELLS from the Augusta/Melissa Retreat in Urbanna, VA last weekend.  Look at these FABULOUS QUILTS!  I wish I could remember which quilt belonged to which person (SOLUTION:  Note to self….. in the future – plan AHEAD!)  I just know that I was impressed and enjoyed the experience IMMENSELY.  Thanks to Augusta and Melissa and all of the wonderful quilters that made this retreat so special!

The things that people are working on and creating just make me smile again and again.    The people make me smile too.  What a wonderful quilt retreat we had hosted by Augusta and Melissa at the Bethpage Camp Resort in Urbanna, VA.  Everyone was so nice – and we learned so much from each other.  I think a lot of us may be inspired to make a QUILT/ROPE RUG…………

I thought it would be fun to walk around and snap photos of works in progress from the quilt retreat………here we go – hope you enjoy seeing the pictures – and if you were there – I hope you enjoy seeing everything again!  (CLICK TWICE ON THE PHOTOS TO SEE THE ENTIRE THING!)  I wish I could remember the creators of all of these projects pictured…..I guess if in DOUBT I could just say LINDA’S QUILT….there were 4 LINDAS on this retreat!
