What’s on my Design Floor, Monday, October 22, 2012

Good morning quilting friends. This week – on my design floor – I have TWO QUILTS with the binding sewn on and ready to be hand stitched down. Who wants to bet on whether or not I actually get this done? Well, even if I don’t (and I PROBABLY won’t) they are ready for my upcoming retreat projects.
First, here is the red, white, and blue Fabricaholics Summer 2011 Mystery.
I was hoping this could be a donation quilt for the Quilts of Valor – but it turned out to be too small (the fabric was from my stash and I ran out!!)
Second is my WORMS AND JELLY ROLL Quilt of America Mystery…..all ready to be finished.
This one will be donated to Hospice in honor of Jay Hoppers. When someone in my family passes, I like to donate a quilt to a worthy cause – it seems more lasting than flowers to me.
THEN…..I have my SOMETHING HALLOWEENY Quilt top completed…….I designed it myself – not much of a design – but here it is! Grandangel Sarah said she didn’t think I was going to get this one finished in time for Halloween. I think she is right! Sarah is concerned that I get this one finished quickly because she has CALLED IT. That is code for “THIS IS MINE AND KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF IF YOU ARE NOT ME.” She really doesn’t care about the quilt top…..but she is love with the velvety feel of the orange MINKEE backing …..ala Susan *THANK YOU SUSAN!
By the way – how do you like my UNIQUE name for this quilt! LOL.
Check out Judy Laquidara’s blog at Patchworktimes to see what other quilters are doing this week. Off to work now…..
Ya know, I just love the scrappy look of your Something Halloweeny–no in fact I love it! The dark sashing and the final border pull it all together so well! Congrats!
Your grand Angle has good taste, Somthing Halloweeny (great name) is perfect. I can see that being snuggled under for a long time to come.
Dagnabit, Sarah beat me to it, gotta’ be quick around here I tell ya’!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE somethin’ Halloweenie!!!!!!!!!!!!
