FAMILY HAPPENINGS – Casts, Basketball, and Makeup

My grandangel Cooper (2nd grader) signed up for an after school enrichment class – SKATEBOARD RIDING. Last Thursday after school he went for his FIRST ENCOUNTER OF THE SKATEBOARD KIND. He had his board, his elbow pads, his knee pads, and his helmet ……. and his spirits were soaring.
HE CAME HOME LIMPING …… yes …….LOOK! Cooper says he really doesn’t mind because now he can “GET ALL OF THE GIRLS AT SCHOOL!” You know how girls like to offer sympathy….and possibly autographs!!!! You will notice that one of our cats, Hannah Fay, is kissing his toes in the picture. See…..he is getting attention already!
Cooper didn’t get to play in his basketball game today….but his sister, Sarah did. She had a wonderful day and ended up going home with THREE STARS! She ran her little heart out….and it was a VERY CLOSE GAME….but they won!!!
It was really exciting and I am so proud of Sarah (5th grader)! Her coach said that he thought her BRAIDS gave her special powers. I think I am going to have to put those braids in her hair EVERY SATURDAY! I am glad that I was there to clap and cheer for her!
OK – so now for the makeup part of this post. Do any of you use make-up products or lotions in tubes? Well, my mother told me that if you cut the tubes in half with scissors (and store them in ziplock bags after you cut them) that you can get a WHOLE LOT MORE out of the tubes (when squeezing is no longer fruitful!)
JUST LOOK AT THIS……I am starting on my 5th week of using what was left in these tubes AFTER I would normally have thrown them away – thinking that the tubes were empty! I just use a Q-tip to get the cream or make up out! Isn’t this a good idea? If my mother can see my blog from heaven, she will be proud that I passed her helpful hint along!
Yeah, Packers !!! I had been embroidering all night and naturally came alive the list quarter, especially the last five minutes. DWH said, “You must be for the Packers.” Well, yes, my friend in Wisconsin who sent me a beautiful Batik needlecase wants them to win and I thought I would help her out.” You had to have been there – so funny. Quilters can rationalize anything.
Thanks for the tip on cutting the tubes – what makeup is that you use? Mine has a harder case. Judy c
Congrats on the Packers win!! Pretty exciting game, huh?
I just wanted to stop by and thank you for your sweet comment on my January finish. Much appreciated! (And the latest good news… I’m getting hi-speed internet soon!!! It’ll be SO much easier to blog-hop! lol) Thanks again!
