Getting it Done January 2013
Posted By drsao on December 31, 2012
Judy Laquidara at Patchwork Times has a new GAME for 2013…..it is called GETTING IT DONE….and each month we get to list FOUR THINGS that we hope to accomplish in that particular month. I think this is to make us FEEL GOOD about getting our goals met in SMALLER STEPS (rather than just commit to finishing ONE ENTIRE UFO!)
If you want to play – here is the link!

OK – so here goes.
#1 SEW FLYING GEESE INTO COLUMNS
I want to make a decision about the sashing for my SCRAPPY STRING FLYING GEESE BLOCKS……thanks to EVERYONE who has made suggestions and voted for their favorite fabric. IF YOU MISSED SEEING MY DILEMMA – you can go to that post….. http://www.shirleyannesheart.com/2012/12/30/help-please-sashing-for-scrappy-flying-geese-blocks/ So far fabric D has the most votes and I think it is my choice as well…….
In case you are CURIOUS about the vote collected on my blog, e-mail, and Facebook – as of Dec 31.
Fabric A 9 Votes (black, brown, and beige print)
Fabric B 9 Votes (tiny red plaid)
Fabric C 3 Votes (no sashing)
Fabric D (the one pictured) 19 votes
Fabric E n0 Votes (cream)
#2 Finish Blocks for Easy Street (Bonnie K. Hunter Quiltville Mystery)
#3 Finish Blocks for Christmas Easy Street (Bonnie K. Hunter Quiltville Mystery)
#4 Sew a few blocks for the NEW YEAR’S EVE Mystery
Nicely done! Good luck on your goals. I ended up having to bail on Bonnie’s mystery for now as I did a LOT of gift giving sewing and visiting with family. Looking forward to watching your progress and Best Wishes for 2013!
Looks like you have your work cut out for you. You are going to town on Easy Street. Looking good.
You’re doing two Easy Streets? I’m all admiration.
Happy Quilting in the New Year!
You scrappy flying geese are great! Thanks for sharing your goals.
I love the string pieced flying geese. Good going. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
Really like your scrappy flying geese!
Do you know Midge in Midlothian? It’s how she always signs her e-mails and I have no idea how big Midlothian is! Your projects are ambitious, but I love your fabrics. The scrappy geese look great. I love scrappy.
Wow! I think your list looks a lot more do-able than mine! Good luck! I look forward to seeing more! (Love to find great blogs!)
You are as busy sewing as I am! Can’t wait to see it all!
So many great projects!
I suggest the black with white dots for your flying geese, with the black & some beige as a second choice. I like the high-contrast Freddy Moran look.
I look forward to seeing your completed version of Easy Street. Now that mine is assembled I want to work on something else for a while!
I really love your scrappy flying geese. That is definitely something I will have to try.
