For our RMQG One-Year Anniversary Fun we made FLOWERS….and it was REALLY SO MUCH FUN! Like in the TRADITIONAL PRACTICE at Scrapbooking Conventions, I hope that we continue these MAKE AND TAKE Programs at RMQG. It is so much fun to learn new things!
Catherine taught us how to make TWISTY Flowers. A little CIRCLE, a lot of GLUE, and a strip of fabric twisted……and voila. LOVE IT CATHERINE.
The "TEACHA" modeling a flower pin......:)
The front of Catherine's flower (with a ruffled edge)
The back - with a pin
Catherine's Flower that she made in class....I was gong to try to pretend that I made it....but my sense of honesty prevailed....
Here I am cutting my circle (right Bonnie?)
Bonnie is doing a great job twisting and gluing her fabric!
Concentration at its finest
Weldome to the Guild Alma!
This REALLY is sao's FLOWER......:) REALLY!
THEN the PIPECLEANER FLOWER…….but that is not what it is called! I thought it was called FIDDLESTIX but then I think Laura called it FICKLESTICKS……so to uncloud my brain, I am going to refer to it as the PIPECLEANER FLOWER! Thank you for the lesson, Laura!
Laura and the PIPECLEANER FLOWERS....:)
All you need is a safety pin, some pliers, 3 pipecleaners and fabric sewn into a tube (and PATIENCE!)
Here is my tube one hour later.....LOL (NOT REALLY!)
Good JOB ALMA!!!!
Alma's Flower - REALLY NICE!
This looks great - look how EVEN and perfect the petals are!
sao's Flower
My petals need some tweaking…..
Maybe it would look cuter turned on its side.....
I like the long stem version the best!
I put my flowers on my little CAT CHAIR at home. (Catherine made the pretty beige one with the rick rack edge.)
The last FLOWER STATION was the HYDRANGEA STATION – thank you Susan…….this was fun. I didn’t finish but I know HOW to finish it and that is the most important part! RIGHT?
Susan had our kits all ready for us (PERFECT CIRCLES!)

More of Susan's Flowers
Trish – on the far LEFT was a first time visitor…..welcome Trisha (Trish – Trisha – I hope one of these is correct! :))
The flower petals are sewn onto the quilt - from the back you can see the circle.
Start with 9 perfect (OR NOT) circles and a needle and thread.
Fold in half and in half again and fingernail press (unless you have an iron handy!)
Fold into the creases to make a little envelope....see how nicely Alma is doing this?
I think this is adorable. THIS REALLY IS MY FIRST CIRCLE FINISHED
Arrange the petals anyway that you like! 🙂

Thanks for including pictures of the hydrangea petals on the quilt from the meeting. I finished a bunch and couldn’t remember if the folds were to be right side up or down. Can’t wait to finish!!!
