sao’s UFO for March, 2012
Posted By drsao on March 31, 2012
Since this is the last day of the month of March – I went back to Judy Laquidara’s Blog to make sure that I had finished my UFO for March *and yes it is a bit TOO LATE to be checking! Somewhere in the back of my mind I “FILED THE FACT” that I had indeed finished it. Well, I was correct, it IS FINISHED but it was still in the BINDING CHAIR – so that will be finished tonight! 😉
The number chosen to be done in March is:
#8
And my number 8 is my Orca Bay I
a Bonnie Hunter (www.quiltville.com) 2011 Mystery Quilt.
Here it is – complete with label – but during the two basketball games tonight I need to finish the last of the binding!
PS….Just to be HONEST…..I did finish it!!!
Here is the back! Thanks to Bonnie Hunter’s example – I am making MOST of my backs from 12 1/2″ squares…..I love it!
Your Orca Bay is one of the nicest I have seen yet! Your fabric choices give clarity to the overall beauty of the quilt. I like seeing the separate blocks, as my brain sees beauty in organization, and the quilter in me appreciates the monumentous amount of work in this quilt! Great job!
You go girl. Two OB finished. I am still trying to get my last border on. Someway I streached it. Oh my. I really need to get it done so I won’t have a nother UFO. We really are going to miss you on our girls day out, night out or weekend out.
Miss You
Bonnie
I like your OB colorway too–congrats on another fabulous finished quilt!
Beautiful. You did a wonderful job of choosing colors.
Wow I’m impressed! I hope to finish my Orca Bay this year but it’s a daunting project. My top is done but quilting it with all those seams on my domestic machine will be difficult. I might have to break down and have it quilted. Congrats on finishing!
A lovely quilt, both the front and back. A real challenge of a quilt, you must be pleased with the finished result.
Love seeing your quilts as they are most always in my color way – A snow flake just landed on my “A” – LoL Don’t you just love this challenge – I am really looking forward to #10 for April – mine will be putting together redwork nursery rhyme blocks which have already been embroidered. Yeah!!! Sending you Spring wishes.
BTW – One of the blogs were showing pictures of the Hampton Roads Show and included one from Ms Catherine Etters – pure joy in her creation and I loved it. Did she get any ribbons – she certainly should have. Judy C
It’s fabulous! Love your colour choices on this one!
