Richmond Modern Quilt Guild May, 2011
Posted By drsao on May 22, 2011
Friday night we met at Quilter’s Corner for our second meeting of the Richmond Modern Quilt Guild! We had lots of fun – lots of inspiration – lots of instruction – and fabulous show and tells! It is amazing that 82% of the people who attended our first meeting last month JOINED and are now official Charter Members!
Our President, Catherine, is truly a MODERN QUILTER – well, she is a MODERN EVERYTHING, really. Every time I see her she is wearing jewelry that she has designed and created!
If we bring in our name tags during the July meeting our names will be put into a drawing for a prize! Next month we get our membership cards and they will be business card size…..so if we WANT, we can design our name tags so that our cards will fit into them. Catherine made her name tag – very cute (and on the back there are 3 slots to hold credit cards!)
We also got a bit of encouragement and instruction on how to make our postcards for the JUNE SWAP challenge. We can bring in six (or the number of our choice) cards to swap. Catherine brought in some of hers to share! I am inspired – how about you!?
The program – lead by Cheryl – was fun. We learned how to do English Paper Pieced hexagons……and OH MY – look at these itty-bitty wonderful hexagon quilts in progress!
It was really a lot of fun! AND we got introduced to the new owner of Quilter’s Corner – TIFFANY. YEAH TIFFANY!
