Shenandoah Valley Quilt Show – Saturday, June 12, 2010

Saturday was a good day. Catherine, Margaret and I made the journey……good company! And as always Catherine wore another of her creative jewelry pieces…and this one is truly a masterpiece. Note in the picture that Catherine molded the centerpiece of the necklace – pure silver. She also put a design on the back of the medallion (probably a better word than centerpiece.) 🙂

The Shenandoah Valley Quilt Show was really nice. I really really really like these quilters – so friendly, nice, and talented.
The vendors were wonderful!
And we saw lots of good friends there! I was really pleased to see many of the Country Piecemakers there – and it was great to see Cindy’s booth – wonderful embroidery embellished denim shirts! What a nice thrill to meet some of the YA YA sisters there and to meet Sara and Nancy’s mother.
We were so VERY happy to get to meet with Fran and her family for lunch in a historical hometown restaurant in Dayton. YUM! Fran has subscribed to my blog – so she told me that my blog was lurking her! We really enjoyed meeting her daughters and hearing all about her grandson’s wedding next week. BE SURE TO NOTE THE CHOCOLATE BOX QUILT IN THE PICTURE SECTION – a wedding present from Fran! Fran also had her Bonnie Hunter DOUBLE DELIGHT QUILT on display – absolutely stellar quilts!!!
And if that were not enough we stopped at the Farmer’s Market and the Patchwork Plus Quilt Shop – and it rained on the way home. There is nothing like a nice gentle rain to soothe the spirit.
I hope you enjoy the pictures!
It was a simply glorious day – old and new friends along with old and new quilts along with old and new experiences – WOO-HOO – we ALL put the good times to great use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
