Savage Mill Mall – Savage, Maryland

Posted By on May 16, 2010

Catherine, Margaret and I went on a ROAD TRIP to the Savage Mill Mall in Savage, Maryland yesterday.  Margaret was quite skilled at getting us there in GOOD TIME!   Thanks Margaret G!  It was my first visit to Savage, Maryland and I found the Mill Mall to be fascinating.

What an interesting historical setting this mall was in!  I took lots of pictures of the windows, walls, and doors.  Something about old buildings just fascinates me!  These walls hold so much information – so many memories.  LOVE LOVE LOVE the old wooden walls, floors and ceilngs!

This is what GOOGLE HAS TO SAY!!

Savage Mill

Savage Mill Mall, a 19th century textile mill, between Baltimore, Maryland and Washington DC, has been restored to a unique shopping mall featuring quality antique stores, home furnishing stores, craft galleries, artist studios, specialty shops, restaurants, banquet facilities and an authentic French bakery. Savage Mill is an historic complex of buildings with more than 175,000 square feet of space featuring the wares of 265 antique dealers, artists and craftsman. This is a great place to shop for gifts or decorative items for your home.

We really enjoyed shopping at the outdoor flea market as well as in the various shops……especially the mixed media art supply/scrapbook store and the quilt shop!  It was a lovely experience – no make that GLORIOUS!  A little BUG tried to join us – really – one attached itself to Catherine’s shoe – and she remained cool, calm and collected while driving with that little critter crawling around!!!

There was only one little thing – if you visit the Savage Mall, try to avoid BONAPARTE BREADS.  The “helpers” could not understand English enough to decipher words like HOT and COLD and Catherine’s HAM AND CHEESE tasted like cardboard and was literally HARD…..what was the owner thinking to hire these folks?  Other than this, the day was perfect!

We ENDED our day at Cracker Barrel and AC Moore in Fredericksburg, VA.  YEAH!  🙂

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  Remember to click on the pictures to see the entire thing.  🙂
