Powhatan Steve – Quilter’s Corner – and the BEAD SHOW
Posted By drsao on April 24, 2010
I am not sure what Steve’s business is called – but he was at the Powhatan Fair Grounds this morning when Catherine and I delivered a recycled water heater and computer!
LOOK AT THESE CUTE LITTLE CABINS JUST FULL OF yard sale/antique/treasures!!! I think he said that he was there every Saturday. Love the cabins – love the old truck – loved all of the “GOODIES STACKED TO THE CEILING IN THESE CABINS.” And I mean – LITERALLY – stacked to the ceilings!!!!
Now once inside I found a very old suitcase picnic basket – but wouldn’t you know it – it was way in the back and on the top of lots of other things – this called for a special tool – and Catherine found some tubing. VOILA – a tool!!!! (To be perfectly honest, I thought that the basket was just not within my realm of possession – but Catherine was way more resourceful!)
OK – so look at this – a real miracle!!!
Catherine found an old SCOTTY PLAID COOLER – my parents used to have one that we used on vacations! Oh how I love the memories that OLD THINGS bring to mind!!!!!
After this adventure we went to Quilter’s Corner to buy some recycled fabric – all the profits went to benefit the animals at the RICHMOND ANIMAL LEAGUE!
I took a few pictures of the fun inside QC – it was great to see lots of friends there too!
And if this weren’t enough fun for one morning, we also went to the Bead Show at the Raceway. OH MY! It was my first ever bead show!! I was just amazed, astounded, thrilled, mesmerized, excited, overwhelmed …..all of those things. There were SO MANY gems, crystals, beads, stones, silver, handpainted pieces…..oh my. It was ever so much fun!!! I didn’t take many pictures – but that is because I was so busy LOOKING AT EVERYTHING! I LOVED IT!
What was really amazing to me was watching Catherine pick up stones and gems and beads – and they just “MAGICALLY WENT TOGETHER.” She has the eye. I sure think it would be fun to do some jewelry creating!!
We ended our GLORIOUS DAY at Ruby Tuesdays – a first time for me. We had a wonderful SALAD BAR and Chicken Chili and Catherine shared some SEW AND TELL. She has done some wonderful NEEDLE FELTING – all in progress, but it sure took my breath away – beautiful work!
I can hardly believe that this is Catherine’s FIRST EVER Needle Felting………..FIRST! Oh my! If I ever do any needle felting you can be sure that it won’t be looking like this! I sure am lucky to have a TALENTED FRIEND!!!! 🙂
Great running into you yesterday. Looks like you had a wonderful day.
Oh, what great, great fun we had and such an action packed day!!!!!! I never cease to get excited over absolutely EVERYTHING in life and being able to share so much of it with you makes it that much mo’ better!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait to get back to playing and creating and doing what I do, such a pain to pretend being a responsible adult………………… YEAH for brilliant, joyful, creative, inspiring, jubilant days which is EVERY day, whata’ gift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
