A Totally Catherine Day
Posted By drsao on December 24, 2009
The day started out in a rather humorous way – Catherine and I met at Quilter’s Corner to start our big day – BIG CHRISTMAS FABRIC SALE AT QUILTER’S CORNER (GO THERE!!!) – but we were parked on OPPOSITE sides of the building and didn’t see each other. Once I went inside I discovered that Catherine was safe and sound – and happily shopping! LOL.
After we shopped at Quilter’s Corner we journeyed on our TOTALLY CATHERINE DAY and had so much fun – went to see Catherine’s class samples at the new Quilting Adventures……then we went to Ben Franklin, Max and Ermas, a wonderful TEA HOUSE – Huckleberries , and the BIG GREENHOUSE. I bought Max a chicken wire basket for a Christmas present at the Big Greenhouse and Catherine entertained me by making a fabulous bow. I learned a lot – who know it took TWO YARDS of ribbon to make a bow – but it is a wonderful wonderful bow. It took Catherine only seconds to make that bow – PERFECT BOW…….very impressive.
Max and Ermas is now officially on my LIST OF FAVORITE THINGS. My lunch was so good that I had it half eaten before I remembered to take a picture! They have a wonderful bathtub full of ice cream and toppings…….looked so yummy but was too full to have ice cream…..next time I SKIP THE LUNCH and go for the ice cream! But, it was really cute and the bathrooms are even maked ERMA and MAX.
We went to Huckleberries where I wanted to buy everything in there – but didn’t. They had furniture, antique quilts, lamps, candles – wonderful. I am sad that they are closing Dec. 29 – but if you are in the area GO THERE – it is by the BIG GREENHOUSE.
After our TOTALLY CATHERINE DAY I shopped at UKrops, got a haircut and went to a neighborhood caroling party. Now is that a day or what? TOO MUCH FUN! (I didn’t take my camera caroling but I hope you enjoy the pictures of the fun that Catherine and I had.)
Oh my, we DID have fun, didn’t we? And the whole day o’ adventure started out so innocently with the exchanging of items to be delivered elsewhere, so why not make a day of it?????? And I don’t think we could have packed in even the littlest bit more of exploration but you know how we HATE to miss out on anything!!!!!!!! I’m so hopeful the cantaloupe added to the Christmas breakfast frivolity and that the crochet book will keep you occupied during your travels to and from K.C. – tell everyone HEY and how much I miss home and above all else, be safe, don’t knock yourself out with all the moving of stuff and come home happy, happy happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
