I got several things PARTIALLY put together this week……and I guess PARTIAL is better than nothing – right! I decided this was my week to work on UFOS….and so I did. I got 3 quilt tops together and one hooker project partially on the way to UFO status!
MODA SELVAGES – started November 2008
I got my Moda Selvages BOM quilt together – here it is in PARTIAL PROGRESS! I liked this better when I got it together than I thought I would!!

MAIN STREET HOUSES
I got my Main Street Houses put together – this was a block exchange and, yes, I had trouble appliquing those little berries – and the center of the flowers. I think they will become represented by BUTTONS once the quilting is completed. I made the spring block (flowers,) Marla made the summer block (stars and the eagle,) Susan made the autumn block (pumpkins and acorns,) and Chris made the winter block (berries and snowflake.) I am so happy to have this one together.

CHICKENS, CHECKS, and CHERRIES
I got another top together – an exchange with friends Sheddy, Marla, Pam, Susan and me! That is us – the five chickens! I haven’t made the back yet – but that will probably get done sometime in the near future. I think this is pretty cute – it is small – perhaps a wall hanging or a table topper?

THIMBLEBERRIES 2009
I got blocks 11 and 12 finished – and their filler components…….I guess I just wasn’t in the mood to follow directions because I changed the pattern for Block 11 – and then I changed the colors for Block 12………and I guess I was REALLY feelying like a rebel because I then decided I wanted to put the whole thing together in some new and different arrangement – so stay tuned for the final product. It won’t look like the “REAL” Thimbleberries 3’s Company arrangement though, that I can tell you (I know because I have it partially sewn together!)

LOCKER HOOKER NEWS
I learned to do Locker Hooking from Catherine Friday night….she is a good teacher and I had fun being in her class at QA…….Carmen did too……..Catherine is very talented and creative and I am always impressed with her unique artistry!
I am making the PUMPKIN candle mat at the top of the display board
I am making the candle mat but I really want to learn traditional rug hooking so I can make something like what Catherine is holding in the picture below. It is WONDERFUL!

This journal is Catherine’s FIRST LOCKER HOOKING PROJECT – her FIRST – can you believe it!

It is fun to learn something new – but I felt like I had SIX THUMBS!
I tried my hand at embroidery this week too – but NOTE THERE IS NO PICTURE. I don’t have the “hang” of it yet. Soon, and very soon, I think I will have it figured out!
FUTURE QUILT INSPIRATION
I saw this black, white and red quilt – A KAREN DU MONT PATTERN – at Quilting Adventures and I think this might be something that I am inspired to do in the future……love it! I am so fascinated with the checkerboard pieced border!
