Chesterfield County Festival of the Arts and Sciences at Monacan HS – April 26, 2009

Grandangel, Leanna, had a “SHADED LEAF” in the Chesterfield County Festival of the Arts and Sciences at Monacan HS this weekend! It is always amazing to me as I look at what our county students have produced. We have some talent around here. I only took a few pictures. The entire school was laden with works of art from Chesterfield County elementary, middle and high schools. I was surprised at the fibre arts as well. There were several examples of fusible fabric designs on pillows. Another school was impressed by the UNDERGROUND RAILROAD and produce their own quilted version!
Unfortunately I didn’t have my grandangel WITH ME as I wandered through the exhibits today – and so I thought the NAME PLATE was her art work…DUH. It was only after I got home and was bragging about how much that I liked her leaf that Nanna noticed the picture that I had taken. I had taken a picture of her NAME PLATE. ugh….how very very very embarrassing.
Her SHADED LEAF art work is displayed above the name plate but I only got a picture of that from a distance….and it is a miracle that I got a picture of it at all. SIGH…. I am sure that this will be a notable faux pas that will live on in my family’s MEMORIES forever – unfortunately…..but hey, I made some people laugh today and that is a good thing, right?
Here are a few pictures!
