We had a virtual feast! JUST LOOK AT ALL OF THIS FOOD!
And I think that the coconut cream pie was a big hit – I almost didn’t get a picture of it before it was gone! Mary did a GREAT JOB! YUM….
And speaking of Mary – look what a great job she did bidding for me at the THIMBLEBERRIES AUCTION – I got the new Moda Mary Engelbreit’s Baskets of Flowers Jelly Roll with my THIMBLEBERRY BUCKS. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Come on now, don’t you ALL want to join in on the Thimbleberries Club for 2009!
Besides eating and talking – we also did some very QUILTY THINGS! Sheddy inspired us to make this SCRAPPY STARS QUILT…..isn’t it cute? OK so now I have my 4th of July quilt planned (goodness 2009 isn’t even here yet and I have Mark Lipinski’s POINT ME HOME QUILT on my list too, as well as the Moda Selvages, Thimbleberries 2009, Quilters Corners BOM and 30’s Club at Quilter’s Corner!!!….I am counting – that makes 6 plus my 6 for the UFO 2009 Challenge…..am I having fun yet, or what!)
Sheddy also taught us to make SCRUBBIES – and she had a very clever way of doing a TOM SAWYER STYLE demo and I fell for it. Actually it was fun to scrunch up the layers of netting! HM….maybe if I start now I can make Christmas presents for NEXT YEAR! LOL
Look what else Sheddy made…….it is a Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville pattern – MY BLUE HEAVEN in 30’s fabrics. I am in LOVE WITH THIS ONE…..OK that makes another one on my TO DO LIST for 2009!
Well, while I am on the topic of Sheddy – she also put together two baby quilts……now is this AMAZING OR WHAT! Marla took a break from working on her Egg Money and Thyme to Water Quilts to help Sheddy with her SHOW AND TELL!
Here is the SECOND Split Nine Patch Baby Quilt that Sheddy put together today – in its layout stage!
The rest of us were also having fun……Ginger cut out a new braid quilt…..
….and Pam quilted away on her table runners!
TA DA…..today we had a very special event! Shirley got her VERY FIRST QUILT EVER back from Valerie, her longarm quilter at
A NEEDLE RUNS THROUGH IT in Goochland, VA.
Isn’t this WONDERFUL!!!!!? It is a Yellow Brick Road pattern.
Norma came by for our luncheon – and my goodness, would you look at her SHOW AND TELL – a Cathedral Window – all done by hand.
And I am so excited – I got a picture of SUSAN (owner of Quilter’s Corner ) helping Sheddy sew her baby quilt together!!
The grand stand event at the end of the day was the emergence of little DOOGIE – Carl and Ginger’s new baby…….isn’t this a cute family!
OMG!!! I want to hit Norma over the head (not kll her, just slow her down a little ) while I steal her out-of-this-world-amazing Cathedral Windows quilt. My heart skipped a beat when I saw it!
