Day Three of Tour De Quilt at Quilter’s Corner in Midlothian, VA

First, let me say that the snow that you see falling on my blog is thanks to my SIL, Greg! I love snow so it was a big treat to open my blog and see snowflakes falling on my words! THANKS GREG.
Oh yes, I do have MORE pictures from day three of Tour De Quilt at Quilter’s Corner in Midlothian, VA. I got to take quite a few pictures today of quilts made from last year’s Tour De Quilt fabrics and that was a lot of fun to see how the same fabric could be presented in so many beautiful ways!
Remember to click on the snippets to view the entire pictures! The first picture is of an antique Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt that Marla is going to quilt by hand! Isn’t it wonderful!
And note that Marla and I had our Singer 221 Featherweight sewing machines out today – we had fun oiling them and admiring them!
I was also very excited when several of the Country Piecemaker’s Guild Members stopped by after their monthly meeting with their fabric for the flower challenge quilt project due in May…..the Black and White Floral Fabric in the photo gallery is it. I just can’t wait to decide how I am going to use this fabric in addition to three other colors that have names that begin with my initials SAO. This is going to be LOTS OF FUN! THANKS TO CATHERINE for picking up the challenge fabric for me and for Sheddy – my partner in wonderful quilting adventures!
I met someone today who had three sisters and since I have NO SISTERS but three brothers – she (Belinda) told me that she would trade one of her sisters for some fabric….see me below with one of her sisters (Bonnie) that I think I will get to claim as my sister in return for some very good fabric….LOL. We had LOTS OF FUN! Note her t-shirt that reads, “I HEAR VOICES AND THEY DON’T LIKE YOU.” Isn’t that TOO FUNNY!
The lovely lady with a big smile wearing a blue shirt and cap is the papparzzi from the Midlothian Day Festival and she came to take pictures – so it was only FAIR that I took her picture!
Notice the black and white and blue and white MAKING HISTORY QUILTS – these are available as kits in the online store – Quilter’s Corner – see the link on my blog.
Also thank you to my daughter Christi who made 9 loaves of pumpkin bread for the Tour De Quilt – the big pumpkin colored mum plant is for her. THANK YOU CHRISTI!
Each day of the Tour De Quilt has been more fun than the previous one – so come see us tomorrow. We will have more goodies to eat in the clubhouse and even if you don’t drink coffee – come in and smell it – PUMPKIN SPICE AND CARAMEL SWIZZLE. 🙂
