Marla and sao Tour Shops in Williamsburg: Quilting, Knitting, Needlework Anyone?

The new year continues to be jam packed with fun and adventure. After having so much fun at our January 09 quilt guild meeting in Williamsburg, Marla and I were primed for further excitement. We set out for LUV2 Quilt – and were enamored with the decor of this lovely quilt shop. We were ooohing and aaahing over all of the Singer sewing machines and especially a hand crank one. I came SO CLOSE to pulling out my credit card – let me tell you!! LOL I took LOTS OF PICTURES.

After the quilt shop, while on a quest for an outstanding sandwich shop, we wandered into one of the most wonderful knitting stores ever. HM…..I cannot believe that I don’t remember the name – KNITTING SISTERS? They had EVERYTHING in that store including felted beads. I have to say that I was inspired and if I hadn’t just made a list of SEVERAL UFO QUILTS that I wanted to do, I would have purchased a book on how to knit socks. Knitting a pair of socks is on my TO DO LIST (I think the more popular and current term is BUCKET LIST.) Some of the patterns for socks that I saw were unbelievable!

Following the knitting store we found an absolutely MAGNIFICENT needlework store. I took several pictures – I was SO AMAZED. PATSY – did you know about this shop? I am putting a “SMALL NEEDLEWORK PROJECT” on my TO DO LIST as well! Some of these displays just took my breath away! I hope you enjoy the pictures of our adventures in the Village Shops in Kingsmill.

We finally found a wonderful WINE AND CHEESE SANDWICH shop in the same little strip outdoor mall where we enjoyed the other shops – which was so enjoyable. The decor and the food was wonderful – loved the bread! We had SO MUCH FUN and after lunch we headed for Midlothian so I could introduce Marla to Sara and her OUT OF THIS WORLD TO DIE FOR QUILTING COTTAGE. I will write a separate post about that because I took SO MANY PICTURES!

Enjoy the pictures of Marla and sao’s shopping adventure in Williamsburg!!! Actually I should say exploration adventure because we really didn’t BUY anything…..and looking back on this, that is quite surprising, don’t you think?
