Patchwork Times UFO Challenge for June 2011
Posted By drsao on July 1, 2011
It is that time – the posting of our PATCHWORK TIMES UFO for June. Judy Laquidara of Patchwork times chose #8 on our list for us to finish in June. That was my GRANDMOTHER’S FLOWER GARDEN QUILT and I am happy to say that I finished that early this year.
I will show you a picture even though I have posted it before – have to play the UFO GAME!
Since I have already posted a picture, today I am showing a CLOSE UP of the binding…….! Sara Parrish did the quilting and you can see that she sewed a little star in each hexagon in the white path……fantastic quilting!
If you go to www.patchworktimes.com you can see what UFO’s other quilters around the country finished for June 2011.
Since I had already finished my #8 UFO when it was announced I worked on a NEW QUILT….
Judy Laquidara’s DANDELION GARDEN. Mine is a quilt of valor so I am using red, white and blue…..so here is my progress on my UFO SUBSTITUTE! I named it PATRIOTIC DANDELION PARADE!
“A Patriotic Dandy” LoL – this is a really stunning pattern from Judy L – and in red, white and blue for July 4th. I also LOVE the Grandmother’s FLower Garden – just beautiful. How did you do the sides? Good finishes. Judy C
Both of your quilts are beautiful! I don’t always find time to look at every UFO finish and I don’t think I’ve come across your blog before. After seeing these two quilts, I’m more than motivated to see more. I think I’ll spend some time browsing it tonight.
Congrats on your early finish! I’m ahead for this month too, so plan to finish up some lanquishing projects. Your patriotic quilt is so perfect for this weekend–looks like it was fun to make!
Good job! Nice finish. I have a grandmother’s flower garden in my ufo pile too.
Wow!!! Love the quilting on your hexie quilt. And the QOV is beautoful!
Congratulation on finishing the Grandmother’s Flower Garden, quite an accomplishment!
I love Dandelion Parade in red, white and blue. With Judy’s colors, I was kinda ‘meh’ about it, but this is goergous! (Doggone it, I don’t need any more projects!) Congrats on the finish – the patience involved in making a Grandmother’s Flower Garden is admirable!
Both of these quilts are beautiful! Congratulations on the accomplishments!
