My Quiltville Quilts as of 2012 – UPDATED :)
Posted By drsao on December 2, 2012
A fellow quilter at WRAGGEDYPATCHES posted 12 of her Quiltville Quilts on her blog…..can I match that? I don’t know. Let’s see!
http://wraggedypatches.blogspot.com/p/my-quiltville-quilts.html
My first Quiltville quilt – and it may be one of my favorites is CAROLINA CROSSROADS – this was Bonnie K. Hunter’s first online mystery quilt and this started my fascination – make that passion for – Bonnie Hunter quilts!
#1 Carolina Crossroads
I made two – here is Carolina Crossroads II – I supersized it! (It isn’t technically finished; however this one is with my longarm quilter as we speak.)
#2 Carolina Crossroads II
#3 SuperBowl 2008 Bargello
Quiltville Quilt #3 is Bonnie’s Double Delight Mystery…..and I thought that I had made TWO of each of her mysteries – but this is a single!
#4 Double Delight
AND here are some more…..
#5 Boxy Stars
Then we have Bonnie’s OLD TOBACCO ROAD MYSTERY – I made two and renamed them Old Virginia Road and Old Virginia Road II.

This next Carolina Christmas Mystery I made into two separate quilts….The Carolina Christmas Star and the Carolina Christmas Poinsettia!

So it looks like I have 32 TOTAL BONNIE HUNTER QUILTVILLE QUILTS….5 are still in progress but the other 27 are finished! I wonder how many Quiltville Quilts that my fellow quilter friends have made?
P.S. My friend, Bonnie Tucker just reminded me that I FORGOT one of the Bonnie Hunter quilts that I have in progress…..my red and white TALKING TURKEY from Bonnie’s latest book – STRING FLING. (So I have a total of 33 with SIX of these Quiltville quilts still in progress! Yes, I am definitely an AVID BONNIE FAN!) And….isn’t Bonnie Tucker AMAZING to remember this one and remind me that I had left it out. I am not sure how that happened either, because I love this one and have been wanting a red and white quilt for forever since red is probably my favorite color!!!
PPSS (if there is such a thing….LOL) A fellow Quiltville friend just told me that I have TWO #21 quilts. I guess I got so excited about gathering all of my Quiltville Quilts together in one place that I forgot how to count! THANKS GWENDOLYN……so that makes a total of 34 with 6 of these still in progress!
GWENDOLYN….I am blown away that you caught the counting error……did that just POP out at you or are you a math teacher and you notice things like that!?
I am also blown away that Bonnie Tucker noticed that I had omitted my Talkin Turkey quilt in progress.
WHAT FUN WE DO HAVE!
Shirley you are simply amazing. I’ve made a few of Bonnies quilts, all her mysteries, and 2 Scrappy Trip Around the World, Triple Irish Chain, Boxy Stars in blocks, Four Square started, it’s startling to see how far we’ve come since meeting Bonnie.
Wonderful work, you should be awesomely proud!
I am totally gobsmacked! These are all amazing – and you make two of many of them, I’m very very impressed. I think I have finished half a dozen baby quilts or minis, and have about 15 either finished to the flimsie stage, or halfway done. I love the variety of patterns.
Amazing, Shirley. They are all beautiful. You have got me waaaay beat.. I got a late start in discovering Bonnie. Carolina Christmas was my first mystery.. Then I made RRCB.. twice.. Then Orca Bay.. I also made Kiss in the Corner, Pineapple Blossom 3 times, Tumalo Trail. These are all completed quilts. I have a fourth Pineapple Blossom almost done, Jamestown Landing just needs the borders and I am working on two of the current Easy Street Mysteries. That would be a total of 13 when these two mysteries are done!! Truth is, I have only made three quilts that weren’t Bonnie quilts since I “found” her and they were quilts made through guild workshops.
Wow. They are absolutely beautiful. I love Bonnies patterns, they really set me free as a quilter. I love how her patterns look great whatever fabrics you use. It must be really cosy in your home with all those beautiful quilts. I am doing my first mystery with easy street. It is quite addictive, I am quite tempted to do two. Hoping to get some pictures loaded on my poor neglected blog tomorrow. Best wishes from the uk. X
WOW! ! And, may I say – WOW again! All your quilts are beautiful, and there are so many of them too. I am also astounded at the number of duplicates you have made – Once I got through some of mine, although I loved them I could pretty much definitely say I would not be making another because of intensity and time involved. You are amazingly prolific. Having said that, though, like you I might be tempted to do Strip Twist again too, because I gave mine way and dearly loved it.
Wow!!! I’m just working on my first Bonnie Hunter quilt (Easy Street), but I’m in love and hope to have the opportunity to make quite a few. Shirley, you’re an inspiration to me!
Wow! Wow! WOW! What a beautiful body of work. They are all just amazing. I so enjoyed seeing all these.
Well done, you! Thank you for sharing~
Your quilts were wonderful to see ….. amazing work!
Gorgeous display of art…thanks for sharing. They are beautiful.
Awe-inspiring! When I retire next year I plan to get busy on my Bucket List and there are MANY Bonnie Hunter quilts on that list!
Wow! You are prolific! I am very impressed! I have made quite a few Bonnie quilts but you have me beat. Debbie in WV
Thank you for taking the time to post this very impressive one-woman show! You are an inspiration to me as a Bonnie fan.
I bow to you!! Your quilts are so awesome!
Bonnie
WOW! I’m scrolling through trying to pick a favorite. They are all beautiful. I’m really loving Orca Bay 2 and Jared Takes A wife. Betty
Bonnie – you have changed the way I quilt….and I just can’t thank you enough. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!
THANKS BETTY…..I called my JB TAKES A WIFE – JB is my dad’s name and the plaids in the quilt are from my daddy and mother’s shirts and blouses! So it has special memories and I gave it to my brother – named JB III!
That is amazing! Congratulations on so many finished and great looking quilts by Bonnie’s patterns!! I’ll have to share your link with some friends that are doing Easy Street!
Shirley! Your quilts are fabulous. You are a real “Bonnie Fan!”

WOW you have the prize. I don’it know what the prize is but you have it. I have seem some of the quilts in person but WOW. Shirley as always you make me smile. I love to see what you do. Keep up the good work. I will now have to go back and make several of the quilts. I know many of your quilts are made for other people. How many of these quilts are in your possession? You always inspire me. I guess I need to start sewing on step 2 of easy street. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
Bonnie T (Doing the Snoppy for You)
Amazing is the word. So many fantastic quilts! I’ve just started my first Bonnie Hunter quilt, Easy Street. Greetings from Norway.
Your Quiltville quilts are truly awesome! Thanks so much for sharing. You rock!
You are a true inspiration for any Bonnie Hunter fan that is for sure. Easy street is my first mistery quilt from Bonnie, and can’t wait to see the results. You sure made my hands itch to do even more of them. Love you color choices.
What a prolific quilter!! Each one is more gorgeous! That Bargello reminds me of sherbet ice cream…just love the colors in that one.
Beautiful Quilts. You have the number 21 twice , so I count 34!
I keep coming back to look at all your lovely quilts. Wow! Easy Street is my first “Bonnie” quilt, but I hope to do a few of the ones shown. This post is so inspirational.
Shirley, you are amazing! Beautiful quilts! I, too, am a big Bonnie fan, but I haven’t churned them out quite like you have. Great job! Isn’t Bonnie awesome? I’m so glad I found her and all the lovely quilters that follow her. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Absolutely positively in awe of your quilts. They are gorgeous, unbelievable really. Well done.
You win!! I thought I’d made a lot of Bonnie’s quilts but you are amazing. And to make some of those TWICE!!
Shirley, you have inspired me greatly!! Wow, they are beautiful. I have bins of fabric upstairs I am going to use Bonnie’s scrap organization system for, and I hope to make several of the quilts you have pictured. Your work is beautiful!! Thank you for sharing!
WOW!!!! Every one is stunning!
That is an amazing accomplishment and a wonderful collection of quilts!
WOW….Gwendolyn…..I guess I got so exciting gathering all of my QUiltville Quilts that I forgot how to count! LOL
Your quilts are really lovely, very inspiring. I like that you made doubles of many quilts, but did a single of the quilt titled “Double Delight.” I added your blog to my favorites, so I can watch your production as you go. Love Bonnie Hunter and her quilts.
Holy quiltville quilts! They are all BEAUTIFUL! Congrats and keep on quilting…
I stand in awe of you!! FABULOUS QUILTS!!! Found you through Bonnie’s facebook page. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful quilts!
Wow, I think it’s safe to say you are a true Bonnie Hunter fan. I have a ways to catch up before I can say I’ve made as many as you. But the one’s I have finished I am forever in love with. I’m sure you feel the same way.
Wow!!! This was like going to a Quiltville Quilt show. Your quilts are beautiful. I haven’t completed a quilt of Bonnie’s yet but have several that I would like to do. After seeing this the number has increased quite a bit. Thanks for sharing!!!!
Wow!! That is amazing – but what a wonderful collection of quilts. I am so impressed!!!
Wow! You are absolutely PROLIFIC! Beautiful quilts, wonderful interpretations with the colors!
Hi Shirley
You deserve a trophy, I’m really impressed. I have made many of Bonnie’s quilts, and thought I was a fan, but what you have made is sensational.
Good on you, they are all beautiful.

WOW, I am impressed! I am starting my FIRST Bonnie Hunter quilt – Easy Street. I don’t have a Blog, so I can’t post my progress 🙁 but I am having fun
I’m not real sure what “totally gobsmacked” means. but when Sandra said it, I thought it also covers how I feel about all your wonderful Quiltville quilts — TREMENDOUSLY IMPRESSIVE!
What a fantastic showcase of all your ‘Bonnie’ quilts!! I’ve done a few and 3 of the mysteries … just finished up Orca Bay. You’ve made some real beauties 🙂
Outstanding work. Keep on keeping on!
… and all are true treasures – so glad you recorded your accomplishments in pictures – who knew and they are mostly small-pieced quilts. One of the quilts that I loved doing last year “before taking time off”, was Criss Cross Applesauce from Scraps and Shirttails 2. A truly great “scrap buster” ( I used my 5″ squares) and could be a leader and ender project. I am collecting clues for Easy Street, however, my sewing room just came together, in other words unpacked, yesterday. Plan on getting back in there this month. Surely I need to do something besides feel bad. Happiest holiday greetings from me to you and Catherine. Judy C
Love your quilts, hope that one day I have so many of Bonnie’s fabulous quilts finished, not just one in progress and one UFO! Thanks for showing us!
I have a page on my blog with Bonnie quilts too..I think I need to add in the smaller ones I have made and see if I tie you..lol, I tell Bonnie I am her number one fan, lol. There is much competition for the spot! SMILE!
I saw this on Bonnies blog! Congratulations. I look forward to seeing your Christmas Easy Street quilt variation.
You are Awesome!!!!
