What’s on my DESIGN FLOOR, November 14, 2011
Posted By drsao on November 14, 2011
Since it is getting close to Christmas (UNBELIEVABLE) I decided that my design wall would include PILLOWCASES!
Here is a king-size one….love the little snowmen!
And TA DA – while waiting for Bonnie Hunter’s new QUILTVILLE MYSTERY to start on November 18th – I decided to make pillowcases to match my ORCA BAY 1 Mystery Quilt. My quilt colors are Barn Red, Blue, and Butterscotch with a background of light beige. This was a little TEST to see if I liked my color choices.
I am going to see what else I can put together to make cute pillowcases this week!
If you want to see what quilters across the nation are doing this week – go to Judy Laquidara’s Blog at Patchworktimes.com – here is the link…….

Shirley, what smart thinking!! Not only do you have your color choices tested, but the pillowcase is finished! I don’t know about you, but when I finish a quilt (finally), I’m done. I don’t know that I’d have the wherewithal to *then* do a pillowcase. You solved my problem! Have a great week! 🙂
Sure looking forward to the mystery…great colour choices, especially the blue!
Cute pillowcases, neat colors for the new Quiltville Mystery quilt
Great idea for the matching pillow cases!! That might be something for me to do while waiting for the mystery to start and as Denise said, great way to test the color choices!
Good idea to test drive your colors. Do you like them? They should look great in a BH mystery.
Very sweet snow-man tissues. I like the snow that falls on your blog,. It is very good. How do you do such a thing? Congratulations! Edit Hungary.
Love the pillowcases! Really like your mystery colors.
Aren’t pillowcases fun! Yours look so inviting. After pricing some ready made ones this weekend at Kohl’s at a whopping $45 a pair I think sewing them is a bargain!
Your pillowcases are great! I’m excited about the mystery quilt too, but not so organized as to have picked out fabrics yet.
Great idea on the pillowcase! I think I will go make mine now while I have enough of my favorite fabrics.
Great idea to make the matching pillowcase ahead of time! I might have to copy that idea!
Love the pillow2 cases but the flashing ad is super annoying.
Terrific idea to audition the fabrics for the mystery with a pillowcase – I am still undecided on starting the mystery – would mean I would have to unpack tubs of fabric – LoL Looking good, Shirley. Judy C
I made pillowcases last year for all my nieces and nephews, from toddlers to adults. They were a huge hit! I love your wintery king-size one. Beautiful!
